Marlinger Waalweg adventure path
A hiking walk along the irrigation canal is the longest of its kind in South Tyrol at 12 km. Almost level and with a grandiose view, it is particularly suitable for family excursions. Starting in Tel (municipality of Parcines), it leads above the villages of Forst, Marling and Tscherm to Oberlana. The Waalweg can be reached via Marling, Tscherms and Lana.
Following the signpost in Töll, we get off to a somewhat adventurous start: wooden bridges lead along the rock walls of the Nördersberg above Algund. Below, the water is channelled in a pipe. Past the well-secured rock walls, an impressive panorama opens up: deciduous forests, meadows and blossoming orchards surround the Waalweg here.
At Marlengo, the path becomes an adventure trail: information boards provide information about natural monuments, flora and fauna of the Nörderberg and you can admire works of art along the way. The route continues through the landscape of vineyards near Tscherms, past Lebenberg Castle, a stately castle visible from all sides, to Lana. The bus takes you back to Merano.
